PerfectMatch emphasizes personality and values matching above all: what’s inside is what counts. Matching is based on a proprietary system called the Duet Analysis, developed by Dr. Pepper Schwartz. This online dating site provides a novel approach with its multiple choice ice breakers and relationship analysis system, but there just aren’t enough members to make a good match likely.

Dating Pool Potential:  

Visitors to PerfectMatch are more frequently women than men, a little older than most other online dating sites, and slightly less affluent. It is not as highly trafficked as higher ranked online dating sites. 

Profiles:  

Allow about half an hour to complete the personality inventory test along with standard physical information and open-ended questions. The Duet results are grouped into four categories of opposite pairs, very similar to the Myers-Briggs personality inventory:

1. Romantic Impulsivity: Risk Taker/Risk Averse
2. Personal Energy: Relaxed/High Energy
3. Outlook: Optimistic/Cautious
4. Predictability: Variety/Seeks Predictability

The results offer a detailed analysis of each of those factors, and goes on to measure complementary factors, core values, and lovestyle. You can take the test as many times as you like and send the results to a friend.

Matching/Searching:  

Your personality results will be used extensively as you search for a date. With the Compatibility Search, a unique feature of PerfectMatch, you may search by the similarity factors (Romantic Impulsivity, Personal Energy, Outlook and Predictability) or by the complementary factors (Flexibility, Decision Making Style, Emotionality and Self-Nurturing.) PerfectMatch offers excellent search advice to help you consider matches outside your type. PerfectMatch also offers the more common searches by age and zip code and by keyword.

PerfectMatch includes informative pie charts to help you assess your matches. You’ll learn how many people have the same personality type and which types would complement you. Use this information in your searches.

Communication & Additional Services:  

There are two ways to communicate on PerfectMatch. You may send an Icebreaker, which is a collection of multiple-choice questions for someone who interests you, or you may send an email. Icebreaker questions vary from conversation openers like “What type of movies do you enjoy?” and “Where’s your dream vacation?” to conversation stoppers like views on housework, childcare and cheating. The email window includes both a character count and a spell checker, a feature many other online dating sites do not offer.

PerfectMatch has extensive information for online daters on the Life, Love & Dr. Schwartz page. You will also find quizzes, advice and member poll results. 

Ease of Use:  

Compared to other online dating sites, navigation is tricky. It is unclear where to start: New Perfect Match, New Ice Breaker, Home? Emails are on a different page than Icebreakers. An all-in-one communication gallery with photographs would make the tracking process infinitely easier. 

Help & Support:

Summary:  

PerfectMatch is a perfect personality inventory tool. You will learn a lot about yourself. However, navigating the site and using pre-written questions, may inhibit your objective of learning about your date. For a larger potential dating pool, you might want to consider one of the higher ranked online dating sites.
